Unfortunately these days, when it comes to Films (even Documentaries), too often the music, which is needed to drive and/or support the final production, is neglected; until the very end. It’s an afterthought, resulting in, quite frankly, a weak musical composition. What should have been an integral part of the filmmaking process is forced to become a formulaic, often dull and disconnected music bed.

Hello,
Wow. I totally agree. The industry has become so predictable. Everyone just ends up ripping off each other until a newbie arrives to push the envelope just a bit further out. Then everyone is off copying that person’s style.

It’s true. If not thrown together at the end of the process, the crew is usually out of time, and money, so they just license something for cheap. Usually the first thing that really sticks out, meaning you might spend a year filming, and an afternoon listening to music. Not a good way to go. If you’re spending all that time and money on the production of a film, why not give the music the respect it deserves.
